2026 CED-IADR Grant and Awards winners

On behalf of the CED-IADR Board and the Award Committee, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ivana  Miletic, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations to all winners of the 2026 CED-IADR Awards, presented during the 2026 CED/NOF-IADR Oral Health Research Congress held in Lisbon, Portugal.

 CED-IADR Travel Grants – Supporting the Next Generation of Researchers

This year in Lisbon, 34 young researchers received a €300 grant.  Join us in congratulating the 2026 grant recipients for their outstanding contributions and dedication to advancing oral health research: Aesha Allam, Zehra Beyaz, Andrea Lorenz, Athanasios Alexandridis, Bilel Amiri, Brina Dolenec, Eleni Michalopoulou, Haytham Qinawi, Irem Okten, Jiayi Liu, Juan Daniel Gamonal, Julia Schwärzler, Keyi Wu, Lara Vranic, Lingyun Cao, Lucky van Gennip, Luka Šimunović, Mante Kireilyte, Melinda Polyák, Merve Mutlu, Niccoló Giuseppe Armogida, Nils Werner, Pablo Amend, Petra Duić, Qianpeng Li, Rebeka Lea Sajko, Rita Antonelli, Romain Iasio, Roos Budts, Sara Di Nicolantonio, Ula Oblak, Wenyu Feng, Wenyue Sun and  Xukai Gu.  

These grants offer a valuable opportunity for early-career researchers to gain international exposure, build networks, and share their research on a global stage. Recipients were selected by a jury based on abstract scores evaluated by the Scientific Committee.

On September 2 and 3, 2026, we held the annual award competition in Lisbon.  Here are the winners:

1st Prize:  1000 € and 1 year free membership

Eddy Shan, Spain: “Enhanced osteogenesis of bioactive-glass-coated, epsilon-poly-L-lysine-loaded, polycaprolactone scaffolds for bone regeneration”

2nd Prize: :  500 € and 1 year free membership 

Andrea Lorenz, Austria: “γδ T-Lymphocytes Reciprocally Interact with Human Periodontal Ligament-derived MSCs”

CED-IADR Best Clinical Case Prize  

1st Prize:  500 € and 1 year free membership 

Ella Ohlsson, Germany: “Surgical Extrusion with Immediate Injection-Molded Esthetic Reconstruction Following Dental Trauma”

2nd Prize: 250 € and 1 year free membership 

Nina Gorea, Portugal: “3D-Printed Posterior Overlays: Two Clinical Cases”

We also have the pleasure in confirming that the 3 candidates representing CED-IADR at the IADR Hatton Award at 2027 IADR/APR General Session & Exhibition (June 23-26, 2027 • Melbourne, Australia) are (in alphabetical order):

The Hatton Competition will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2027. IADR will be funding pre-paid meeting registration, 4 nights hotel stay and $1,000 travel stipend to IADR Hatton Competitors.
